Would you like to learn how to grow Kumara and gain your Level 2 – NZ Certificate in Primary Industry Skills at the same time???

Ngati Tuwharetoa (BOP) Settlement Trust in conjunction with Toi Ohomai are offering a 12-week project based Horticulture course in Kawerau. The course will teach you how to grow a crop of kumara and other summer garden vegetables.


The course is open to ALL Beneficiaries of Ngati Tuwharetoa (BOP) Settlement Trust and Starts 17th September 2018. If you are a Beneficiary of the Trust you may be eligible for a special incentive worth $500 (Conditions Apply).

Toi Ohomai are offering the following course in Kawerau in 2018 -  NZ Certificate in Construction Trade Skills Level 3 (Allied Trades)

(Please note this link does not show that the course is available in Kawerau)


The Course is:

  • A 16 week full time programme (full time meaning approx. 26 class hours per week), course starts 27 August 2018
  • Prepares students to enter the construction industry as carpenters, roofers, joiners – apprenticeships are available in many of these trades
  • Course includes getting the Site Safe Construction Passport
  • Programme is eligible for free fees; applicants can check their own eligibility here
  • Graduates can continue their Carpentry training by doing their full Carpentry apprenticeship with Toi Ohomai
